As the pioneer in Turkey’s wooden packaging sector, our story dates back from the childhood of Young Entrepreneur and Businessman Yücel İNCE until today. His innate passion for wood, combined with the family profession of timber, turns into a love affair. Thus, from being a small team in those years, we have grown into a large family that continues to experience the excitement of those days and passionately pursues its work.

Yücel İNCE, who decided to continue his knowledge in timber and plywood in the field of wooden packaging, took his first step into the business world in Istanbul and established Başak Ambalaj in 2007 in the İkitelli district. During the same period, he initiated the production of Y-Pack crates in wooden packaging and obtained the patent for the product. Başak Ambalaj has now become Sistem Ambalaj, gaining even more strength with its new image.

As technology evolves, new demands arise.

In 2014, Sistem Ambalaj opened its second factory in Avcılar under the name Akasya Ahşap Ambalaj. Responding to the request of Turkish Airlines, one of its first new clients, the company added plastic component boxes to its production range, patented the product, started production, and continued its activities with its second company, Vizyon Case.

To meet the increasing demand in 2016, a third factory was established in Manisa Akhisar, forming the Aegean leg of packaging manufacturing.

What started with three people has now turned into a giant team of 150, rapidly growing and evolving. With this growth, new ideas are generated. Although the produced products meet the highest quality standards, the need for faster procurement of raw materials and the quickest delivery to customers led to the establishment of the Turhal Plywood factory in 2018. With the establishment of the Turhal Plywood factory, Akasya Ahşap Ambalaj began producing its own raw material, plywood, marking another milestone in the industry and taking the lead as the only company that produces its own raw material.

In 2019, the fifth factory was established in Sultanbeyli as the Anatolian branch, starting its operations from the Anatolian side of Istanbul and responding to all packaging needs from there to Central Anatolia.

Among the works that Akasya does with passion, log houses have also been added, and a factory was established in İzmir Urla, starting the production of wooden houses.

Yücel İnce expresses the love behind all these success stories as follows:

“The saw has its own notes. When it combines with wood, you hear the music. If you don’t like that music, don’t expect success. I’ve loved that song since my childhood.”

As the Akasya family, we are proud and happy to realize the industry’s firsts for our country.
